Trip Format:

Private trips are designed for travellers who know exactly what they want, who appreciate (and are willing to pay for) the craftsmanship that an expert can bring to the challenge, and who value their own time enough not to want to waste it trying to build the trip of a lifetime on their own.

Group Size:

Minimum of 6 / Maximum of 24. In our experience, group travel is a necessary element of gaining access to the richest travel moments where the remoteness of the locations and the challenges of local travel make it difficult to do on your own. That being said, these are not "traditional" large group tours - the groups we take are small (average 16 people) and personal, designed to uncover places through intimate, close-up cultural encounters that would often be impractical or impossible on your own.

Level of Activity:

Light: Strolling through city streets, country walking, light hiking in pursuit of culinary delicacies. Suitable for all ages and abilities, with some opportunities for extended walks. The minimum age for drivers is 25.

Level of Luxury

Indulgent - This trip is designed with a focus on indulgence and creature comforts. The accommodation is the best available, which usually means a combination of well-known luxury hotels (Relais & Chateaux, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Design Hotels, etc) and lesser known gems with plenty of regional character and charm (from wilderness lodges to converted 17th century monasteries). The food is always first rate, with a blend of haute cuisine and regional delicacies, the transportation is discrete and comfortable, the guides are knowledgeable and charming and the events are unique and memorable.

• meals as indicated in the itinerary.
• all entrance fees and tours
• all transfers and baggage handling
• all local experts and specialists
• the leadership of a local guide throughout the trip 
• all special events and on-trip surprises

• all pre-departure materials, including documents wallets and destination details

Please note - The price of these trips generally assume that the car will be shared between two people, and thus if you want a car all to yourself, you will have to pay a hefty single supplement (often close to double the per person trip price)

NOTA BENE

We build all of itineraries as exhaustively as possible; however, we also leave room for the spontaneity of the group, the creativity of the leader, and the unpredictability of the elements. Thus, all itineraries are subject to modest modification, dependent on local weather, new opportunities, and the desires of the group.

Getting There

Flights:

We generally recommend that our travellers arrive at least a day before the trip starts in order to get their bearings and ease in to the new surroundings. Depending on your preference, you can generally choose between a day flight or an overnight flight.

Travel Services:

For the convenience of our travellers, we would be happy to assist you with you pre or post trip travel arrangements, however, note that we charge a service fee of $150 per booking. Please call us to discuss your needs.

Please note that a service transaction fee of $150-$250 will be charged for arrangements such as flights, transfers and hotel rooms that are outside the planned itinerary.
